InfoExpress Adds CyberGatekeeper Network Access Control
iOS App
to Support Bring Your Own Device Trend
CyberGatekeeper
Increases IT Security Posture for Organizations that Want to Provide
Network Access to Users of Popular Consumer Devices
Mountain View, CA - November 1, 2011 -- InfoExpress,
a leading network security solutions provider, today announced that
its CyberGatekeeper Family of Network Access Control (NAC) products
now support popular mobile devices, including the iPad, iPhone and
iPod touch. A number of CyberGatekeeper NAC customers are using
the product as the backbone of their Bring Your Own Device policy.
With the addition of the iOS app, security administrators are able
to provide deep inspection for Windows, Mac, Linux and mobile endpoints.
CyberGatekeeper NAC provides comprehensive pre-admission endpoint
authentication and post-admission access control on wired and wireless
networks. With the extension of CyberGatekeeper to iOS-based devices,
IT administrators can be sure that when these endpoints fail authentication
they are not granted access to the network or are placed into quarantine
depending on pre-determined security policies. The added layer of
security protects the network from unsecured endpoints.
With Apple's recent announcement that it has sold 250 million iOS
devices, the consumerization of IT that industry pundits have been
predicting is here. In fact, according to a 451 Group survey, 71.2
percent of businesses asked were allowing personal devices to be
used for work. The addition of consumer devices on the network represents
a major end-user productivity gain, but also a potential threat
to the network. A comprehensive security approach that includes
the CyberGatekeeper application for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch
increases the level of network security, while allowing the end-user
to use the device of their choice.
"Organizations frequently need to support user owned devices on
the network, especially as Bring Your Own Device polices are implemented,"
said Stacey Lum, CEO of InfoExpress. "By now supporting mobile devices
in addition to Windows, Linux and MacOSX computers, CyberGatekeeper
extends support to a greater number of endpoints than ever before.
With the additional layer of security provided by NAC, organizations
can benefit from productivity gains while mitigating the potential
security issues."
